e-Invoicing is LHDN's system requiring businesses to issue invoices in a standardised digital format that is validated by the tax authority in near real time, rather than only as paper or PDF documents. Each validated invoice gets a unique identifier and QR code, and the data flows to LHDN to improve tax transparency and reduce evasion. Malaysia is rolling it out in phases, starting with larger companies and gradually covering smaller businesses. Firms integrate through the MyInvois portal or via system connections. Coverage timelines, exemptions, and technical requirements are set by LHDN and subject to the latest rules.
