Tabung Haji

Finance

Tabung Haji (Lembaga Tabung Haji) is Malaysia's pilgrimage savings and management body for Muslims. Depositors save money in Shariah-compliant accounts, and the fund may declare an annual profit distribution called hibah. A main purpose is to help Muslims accumulate savings and register for the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, with Tabung Haji also managing pilgrimage logistics and quotas. Savings can be withdrawn for other needs too, subject to procedures. It operates under Islamic finance principles rather than conventional interest. Profit rates, Hajj registration, and quota arrangements are decided periodically and subject to the latest rules.
