Constant acid reflux from too much mamak and kopi, anyone fixed this?

I'm 34, work in sales so lots of mamak meetings, teh tarik and late roti canai suppers. Now I get bad acid reflux almost every night, especially when I lie down. Popping antacids like sweets. Trying to figure out lifestyle changes before it gets worse. Anyone here dealt with GERD from this kind of lifestyle?

I'm not a doctor but I went through this and the antacid habit is a warning sign, please get it checked properly, mine turned out to be H. pylori which needed antibiotics, not just lifestyle changes. That said, the lifestyle stuff matters a lot: I cut fried and spicy food during weekdays, swapped kopi for less acidic options, and ate smaller portions more often instead of one huge mamak meal. Losing a bit of belly weight also reduced the pressure on my stomach. The mamak lifestyle is hard to quit in sales I know, maybe suggest kopitiam breakfast meetings instead of late suppers. See a GP first, don't let it drag.

Ya lor, classic Malaysian sales guy problem, I had the exact same thing. What actually helped me: I stopped eating anything within 3 hours of sleeping, that late-night roti canai supper was the main culprit. Also cut down teh tarik to one a day, the sweetened condensed milk plus caffeine was killing my stomach. I raised the head of my bed with a couple of books under the legs so I'm not flat when sleeping. Reflux improved a lot within a month. But please see a doctor if it persists, long-term reflux can damage your esophagus and mine needed a scope to rule out other stuff. Don't just self-medicate with antacids forever.
