My colleague keeps taking credit for my work in meetings, how?

Every time I do the analysis and share in our group chat, this senior colleague repeats it in the meeting as if it's his idea, boss praise him some more. I don't want drama but also fed up. Any advice from working adults?

I had exactly this with a colleague and I nearly quit over it. What helped was two things. First, document everything, I kept my emails and would gently reference them. Second, I built a direct relationship with my manager through short one-on-ones, so my boss knew my work first-hand. Once your boss trusts your output directly, the credit-stealer loses power. If it really continues and affects your appraisal, raise it privately with HR or your manager with concrete examples, not emotions. Don't blast him in the group chat, Malaysian offices love face and you'll come across worse. Play it smart, protect your visibility.

Been there, quite the classic office move. From my experience the best defence is a paper trail. Start sending your analysis directly to the boss (cc the team) instead of only the group chat, so your name is on it first. In meetings, speak up early: 'As I shared in my report yesterday, here's what I found.' Say it calmly, not defensive. I also learned to volunteer to present my own work rather than passing it to seniors. You don't need confrontation, just make sure your contribution is visible and timestamped. Over time the boss will notice who actually produces the work.
