Anak Standard 4, everyone send tuition. Necessary meh?

My daughter doing okay in school, but all her classmates go tuition after school. Wife worried she left behind. Tuition centre near us charge RM300/subject/month, quite pricey. Betul betul need or just kiasu culture?

Two kids here, and my honest take after years - dont send just because others send. Thats kiasu trap. Standard 4 still young, if she doing okay, save your money. What worked for us: I sit with them 30 min a day for homework, and only sign tuition for the ONE subject they genuinely struggle with (my son needed BM). Blanket tuition all subjects is overkill and burns the kid out. RM300 x 4 subjects = RM1200/month, thats a car loan! Spend on quality time and one weak subject only. Also check the tuition teacher quality, some just babysit.

Group tuition cheaper than 1-to-1 and also good for social. But agree, dont over-tuition. My niece got sent for everything and by Standard 6 she totally burnt out, hated studying. Balance with play and rest. Kids need to be kids also.

Try free options first lah - YouTube got tons of good BM, Math, Science content for primary. Cikgu on YouTube explain very clear. I use it with my son, then only pay for tuition if he still struggle after that. Test the water first before spend RM300.
