Cameron Highlands trip - how to avoid the crazy jam and crowd?
Planning a family trip to Cameron over a long weekend. Heard the jam up the hill and at the town super teruk, plus everywhere packed. Any tips on best time to go, which route, and worthwhile spots that not too touristy?

Go on weekdays if you can, ORRR long weekend but avoid it lah, it becomes a parking lot especially Brinchang town. Two routes: the Simpang Pulai side (from Ipoh) is newer, wider, less winding - way better than the old Tapah road which is narrow and makes everyone mabuk. Start your drive early, like leave KL by 6am, reach before the crowd. Stay in Tanah Rata (quieter) not Brinchang. Skip the super touristy strawberry farms near town, go the smaller ones further out. Mossy Forest need to book guide now, worth it for the cool experience. And bring jacket, sejuk especially malam.

Fill petrol before going up, station up there limited and queue long. And your Grab basically takda up there, so you must self-drive or arrange transport. Bring cash also, some small stalls no e-wallet. Steamboat malam is a must with the cold weather, book table ahead during peak.
Pro tip - book homestay with parking included, because parking in town during peak is a nightmare, cars everywhere. Once you check in, walk or use the local rides. Also the BOH tea plantation (Sungai Palas) go early morning before tour buses arrive, the view damn cantik and cool, less crowd.
