How to apply and check STR / Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah status?
Heard about the STR cash aid but not sure if I qualify or how to apply. My income is low-mid range. Where do I register, what documents needed, and how to check if my application approved? First time applying.

STR (formerly BR1M/BSH) is handled by LHDN (Inland Revenue). How it works: (1) Registration and updates are done through the official STR portal on the LHDN website during the open application/update window, they announce these periods, usually around budget time. (2) Eligibility is based on household income and category (single, household, senior), with income ceilings that get set each year, so check the current thresholds on the official announcement. (3) Documents/info you'll need: your IC, bank account details (must be your own account, matching your name), household info and income declaration. (4) To check status, log in to the same STR portal with your IC, it shows approval, payment phase and amount, payments come in stages to your registered bank account. Key tips: make sure your bank account is active and in your own name or payment fails, and keep your details updated. Everything is free, never pay any 'agent' to apply for you, that's a scam. Confirm the current window, thresholds and amounts on the official LHDN STR portal because they change yearly.
I apply every year online, senang. The important part banyak orang tersilap: your bank account name must match your IC name exactly, kalau tak the payment reject and you kena update balik, lambat. Also use your own account, jangan guna account orang lain. Check status on the portal using IC number, it'll show which fasa and how much. Don't layan any WhatsApp saying click here to claim STR, semua tu scam, official only through LHDN portal.

If you never registered before, you can only apply during the open window, so watch the news or the LHDN portal for when it opens, usually there's an application phase then a data update phase. If you already in the system from before, sometimes you just need to update details, not re-apply. If rejected and you think you qualify, there's an appeal (rayuan) process on the same portal. All free. And yes double check income ceiling for your category first so you not disappointed, the limits are published officially.
