Strata vs Landed Property

Housing

Landed property means a house sitting on its own plot of land, such as a terrace, semi-detached, or bungalow, where the owner generally controls the whole land and building. Strata property refers to units within a shared development, like condominiums, apartments, and gated townhouses, held under strata titles that divide ownership between private units and common areas. Strata owners pay maintenance fees and a sinking fund to a management body for shared facilities and upkeep. Landed owners handle their own maintenance. Both have individual titles once issued. Specific rights and charges are subject to the latest rules.
