Just grad last year, still finding stable job. PTPTN letter came already and I'm blur. When must I start bayar and is the discount for early settle still available? Scared the amount keep growing.

Repayment officially starts 12 months after your studies end, whether you working or not, so don't wait for the perfect job. What I did: register the account on PTPTN portal, then set up potongan gaji or a monthly auto-debit even if small, like RM100. The key thing is the ujrah (admin charge, replaced the old interest concept) keeps accumulating on the balance, so paying something every month beats letting it sit. On discount, PTPTN runs promo periods, sometimes 10-15 percent off for full settlement or on-time monthly payments, but the exact rate changes, so check the official ptptn.gov.my announcement before you settle. I settled a chunk during one promo and saved a few hundred. Verify the current promo directly with PTPTN, don't trust random screenshots on FB.

Bro just start small first. I pun takda stable job that time, drive Grab sambil cari kerja. I set RM50 a month standing instruction, at least record shows you paying. Later bila dah keja tetap I naikkan. Don't ghost PTPTN, kalau tak nanti masuk STL and can affect loan or even travel in some cases. Login myPTPTN app, senang tengok baki.

One thing people forget: if you scored first class honours, in many past years PTPTN converted the loan to a scholarship, meaning no need to pay at all. Check whether you qualify and whether that scheme still open for your batch, terms change year to year so confirm on the official portal. If not eligible, do the auto-debit thing others mentioned. Also always keep the payment receipts, my friend kena system error and the receipt saved her.
