Renew driving license online through MyEG, safe and how?
My lesen memandu expiring soon. Malas to queue at JPJ. Can I fully renew online through MyEG and is it legit/safe? Do I still need to collect physical card and any hidden charge? First time doing it online.

Yes, renewing your CDL (competent driving licence) online is legit and easy, MyEG is an official JPJ service partner, and there's also the JPJ's own MyJPJ app. How it goes: (1) Log in, select driving licence renewal, choose how many years (1 to 5, longer = cheaper per year). (2) Pay the JPJ fee plus a small MyEG service/convenience charge and delivery if you want the physical card couriered, that's the only extra, not hidden, it's shown before you pay. (3) The renewal is registered in the JPJ system immediately, and your new physical licence card gets posted to you, or you can opt to collect. Note the digital licence in the MyJPJ app is also recognised now, so you may not even need to rush for the card. Requirements: your licence must not be expired too long (if expired over a certain period you may need to redo at JPJ counter or even resit), and no outstanding issues. So renew before it expires to keep it simple. Confirm current fees and rules on MyEG or the official JPJ/MyJPJ channels.
Done it many times on MyEG, totally fine. The service charge is small and clearly stated, no hidden nonsense. I renew 5 years at once to save trips and it's cheaper overall. Card comes by post in a week or two. Honestly now with the MyJPJ app showing digital licence, I barely need the physical card, but I still keep it. Just don't let it expire long, renew while still valid, senang.

Only watch out: use the official MyEG site/app or MyJPJ, not some random link from WhatsApp or a fake 'JPJ renewal' site, scammers make lookalike pages. Type the address yourself or download the official app from the proper store. Pay only within the app. Also if your licence already expired for a long time, online may block you and you'll need to go counter, so renew early. Otherwise smooth, no need queue.
