How to answer expected salary in interview without lowball myself?
Never give a single number, give a range and always anchor higher. I usually say something like "based on my research for this role and my experience, I am looking at RM5800 to RM6500, but I am open to discuss depending on the full package." This way you dont box yourself in. Also flip it back, ask "what is the budgeted range for this position?" Many HR will tell you if you ask confidently. I moved from RM4800 to RM6200 doing exactly this. Rule of thumb changing job you can ask 20-30% jump, dont be shy, they expect it. Just make sure your range is backed by market data, check the JobStreet salary reports.
